FAKRO’s tireless commitment to research and development has perfected its industry leading high performance energy efficient glazing systems. Specializing in the use of laminated glass, FAKRO uses laminated glass on all its products (the only exception – the FX fixed skylight is available with laminated and tempered glass).

The Features of FAKRO’s Laminated Glass
FAKRO offers laminated glass on all its skylights and roof windows. FAKRO uses a number of different configurations of glazing based on the requirements of the skylight or roof window, this includes double, triple and now Canada’s first quadruple glass unit. Laminated glass has many benefits.
Superior Sound Reduction
Reduces the effects of sound by up to 30% compared to standard double pane glass, and up to 50% less than a acrylic skylight. Bring natural light in without additional noise such as traffic or planes.
Additional Security
Laminated glass is more difficult to break and penetrate. So, if you are concerned about security it is worth considering. The vinyl interlayer holds the glass together in case of breakage.
Best in class UV Protection
Laminated glass lets the light in but protects your home from UV rays. The ideal choice to prevent fading of your floors, furniture and artwork.
Increased Safety
Laminated glass provides additional safety. Even when broken it does not shatter because the two inner layers of glass are bonded to a thin plastic membrane.
Many building codes require laminated glass for out of reach applications.
G33 – Laminated Glazing Unit
- Glass that makes a statement. The G33 glazing unit is used in FAKRO’s Curb Mount Solar Venting skylight featuring elegant infinity glass.
- The sleek stylish infinity glass matches the latest trends in residential architecture and roofing materials. The laminated unit goes right to the edge of the skylight with no frame, accented by a stylish black bezel. The lamination provides additional security.
- Equipped with single chamber solar G33 glazing unit with internal glass laminated and warm spacer. Should the pane crack, shards of glass do not pose a danger but remain on the laminate film.

G3 – Tempered Glazing Unit
- The G3 Tempered glazing unit delivers exceptional energy efficient and is ENERGY STAR® certified when used in the FAKRO FX Fixed Skylight.
- FAKRO uses the highest quality glazing insulated unit spacers and the glass chamber is argon gas filled for outstanding thermal performance.
- The glazing unit is set in the high quality fine grain European pine wood, hand selected, vacuum treated, and factory lacquered.

G31 – Tempered/Laminated Glazing Unit
- The G31 Tempered/Laminated glazing unit delivers exceptional energy efficient and is ENERGY STAR®, with the added security of lamination. The ideal glass for FAKRO’s popular skylight range.
- FAKRO uses the highest quality glazing insulated unit spacers and the glass chamber is argon gas filled for outstanding thermal performance.
- The glazing unit is set in the high quality fine grain European pine wood, hand selected, vacuum treated, and factory lacquered.

P2 – Anti-Burglary Glazing Unit
- The P2 glazing is a strong rigid laminated unit engineered specifically for the needs of the pivot window mechanism.
- Laminated and anti burglary class P2A according to standard EN 356. Offers increased resistance against breakage.
- The unit consists of external toughened pane with easy maintenance layer, warm TGI spacer and inner pane which has two 3mm thick sheets of glass with 0.76mm (2×0.38mm) layer of PVB plastic membrane between them.
- The inner side of the laminated pane it has a low emission coating which reduces penetration of UV rays by up to 99%.

U6 – High Energy Efficient Glazing UNIT
- FAKRO’s high performance U6 glazing unit delivers excellent energy efficiency in the innovative centre pivot FTT roof window.
- The FTT come in the triple glazed U6 and best in class energy efficient quadruple glazed U8 unit.
- The U6 glazing unit is highly energy efficient, and ideal for many applications where the Passive House certification of the U8-VSG is not needed.
- The unit has two warm TGI spacers and the glass chambers are filled with inert energy efficient gas-argon.
- Featuring a laminated anti burglary inward facing lens – a layer of PVB plastic membrane between the two glass panes.

- Double chamber glazing 6HT – Tg18Ar – 4H – Tg18Ar – 33.2T.
- Three panes: external toughened pane, internal toughened with low emission layer and inner (consists of two panes with 0.76mm (2×0.38mm) layer of PVB plastic membrane between them) laminated anti burglary glass P2A.
- The unit has two warm TGI spacers.
- The chamber cavities are filled with inert Argon gas.
U8-VSG Quadruple Glazing UNIT
- The FTT U8 is roof windows intended for the exceptional energy efficient requirements of passive construction. The first quadruple glazing in a skylight in North America.
- The U8 quadruple glazing unit is set in a specifically designed sash frame. It has wider wooden profiles, compared with a standard window. This design reduces the occurrence of thermal bridges and delivers better insulation of the window.
- The 12mm chamber cavities between the panes are filled with inert krypton gas – the most energy efficient gas used in glazing manufacturing.
- The inward facing pane is laminated for additional security.

- Triple chamber glazing 4H – Tg12Kr – 4HT– Tg12Kr –
4HT – Tg12Kr – 4HT, consists of four toughened panes. - It has three low emission layers and warm TGI spacers.
- Inner laminated anti burglary glass P2A. The unit has three warm TGI spacers.
- The 12mm chamber cavities between the panes are filled with inert Krypton gas.
DU6 Glazing Unit
- FAKRO manufactures a superior range of flat roof skylights, featuring outstanding glazing, parts and materials. The performance of the DU6 glazing unit works in unison with the factory manufactured insulated curb.
- The laminated DU6 is a high performance glazing unit designed specifically for the stringent requirements of this popular range of flat roof skylights.
- The inward facing lens is laminated, and the external and middle pane has been toughened for additional strength.
- The DU6 glazing provides excellent sound insulation, it has been tested for sound insulation during heavy rain.

DW6 Glazing Unit
- Glass you can walk on – FAKRO’s designed the ultimate is glazing strength and performance for the revolutionary walkable skylight that seamlessly integrates with a deck surface.
- Innovative DXW DW6 flat roof window acknowledged in Germany during Architects’ Darling Awards 2017.
- With reinforced ultra safe construction, anti-slip coating, an external triple laminated pane, and a laminated internal pane, the DXW window is an exceptionally strong product that allows you to walk across its entire surface safely.
- It features non slip coating, and infinity glass. The modern design, and industry leading quality allow the skylight to be used individually and in a group.

P5 Glazing Unit
- The FGH-V balcony window is a masterpiece in engineering, its two custom glazing units (upper and lower) were specifically designed to match the quality and strength of the window. The P5 is set in the exceptionally thick wooden frame that opens to form a balcony.
- The P5 Double chamber glazing is laminated, anti-burglary, for additional security. Offering increased resistance against breakage.
- The glazing cavity is filled with inert thermally superior krypton gas, with warm TGI glass spacer.
- On the inner side of the laminated glass it has a low emission coating which reduces penetration of UV rays by up to 99%.
