FVS – Deck Mounted Solar Venting Skylights
- Solar powered deck mounted skylights are ideal solutions for out of reach applications, where besides the natural light, you can enjoy fresh air.
- FVS skylights are equipped with the industry standard Z-Wave radio control system, allowing for easy remote operation and Smart Home integration.
- FVS skylights are powered by the integrated solar panel, which efficiently recharges a concealed battery, powering the operating and control system, to open and close the skylight. As a result, being connected to a power source is not required and the skylight is not adding to your energy bill. An electrician is not required for installation.
The FAKRO premium deck mounted skylights carry a 20 year warranty on sealed glass failure. 10 years on parts, and 5 years on blinds and controls.

The Industry’s Superior Solar Skylight
- Venting deck mount skylights are powered by an integrated solar panel with concealed wires.
- Positioned at the top of the skylight for optimal solar collection. The top mounted design improves the appearance of the skylight, and provides safe and secure operation.
- An important consideration in northern areas, it provides additional clearance from snow and ice build up.
Responds to a Single Drop of Rain
- The FVS includes two integrated rain sensors that automatically close the skylight at the first sign of rain.
- Never worry about your home when you are away and it unexpectedly starts to rain.
Smart Home & Remote Control Operation
- Control your FVS skylights as a stand alone or multi unit system using the included ZRH12 remote control.
- The remote controls up to 12 separate groups with up to 12 skylights per group (144 total).
- A wall keypad, ZRW7, is also available, operating up to 7 separate groups with up to 12 skylights per group (84 total).
ENERGY STAR® with Insulated Thermo Flashing
- Installation with ELA-T Thermo insulated flashing achieves ENERGY STAR® Performance.
- FAKRO’s unique industry leading insulated flashing increases the R-value of the entire product by up to 10%.
Gasket System Prevents Air and Water Penetration
- Double seals between the frame and sash to prevent any air leakage.
- Perimeter gasket underneath the frame to ensure a water/air tight seal to roof deck.
One Person Installation Saves Your Roofer Time & You Money
- Metal pins hold the skylight in place during installation. The elimination of the skylight sliding allows for one person installation.
- 4 to 6 screws drilled through the frame to secure the skylight to the roof deck. Perfect for new builds and retrofits.
- A template is supplied that is specific to the skylight model, for fast and easy marking of the rough opening.

The Features of FAKRO’s Laminated Glass
FAKRO offers laminated glass on all its skylights and roof windows. FAKRO uses a number of different configurations of glazing based on the requirements of the skylight or roof window, this includes double, triple and now Canada’s first quadruple glass unit. Laminated glass has many benefits.
Superior Sound Reduction
Reduces the effects of sound by up to 30% compared to standard double pane glass, and up to 50% less than a acrylic skylight. Bring natural light in without additional noise such as traffic or planes.
Additional Security
Laminated glass is more difficult to break and penetrate. So, if you are concerned about security it is worth considering. The vinyl interlayer holds the glass together in case of breakage.
Best in class UV Protection
Laminated glass lets the light in but protects your home from UV rays. The ideal choice to prevent fading of your floors, furniture and artwork.
Increased Safety
Laminated glass provides additional safety. Even when broken it does not shatter because the two inner layers of glass are bonded to a thin plastic membrane.

FAKRO Radio Control System (FVS)
- FAKRO FVS skylights are equipped with the industry standard Z-Wave Smart Home radio technology. Z-Wave is one of the most widely used wireless broadcasting systems, so our products easily integrate with your Smart Home systems.
- Z-Wave is well supported, being constantly improved and updated to adjust to changing technology, removing the risk of a proprietary system offered by competitive manufacturers that may lack the support necessary to keep it up to date.
- Alternatively, the skylight can be operated without being connected to a Smart Home Hub, with the included ZRH 12 Remote Control controlling the skylight directly.
- The Z-Wave technology links all compatible Smart Home Hubs and devices into a single network: skylights and blinds, lighting, thermostats, alarms, computers, telephones, and air conditioning.
