We Care About our Community

We are a Canadian company with strong ties to the communities where we are located. Working and living in the same community has established a strong bond and sense of responsibility, and it is important to us to give back, supporting local causes and charities.
  • Since 1955 it has been part of our company culture to give back, every year we give to a number of recognized charities.
  • We believe that by making our community stronger we will in turn benefit as our employees help to make our business grow and prosper.

  • Columbia is a proud sponsor of HeroWork Canada – a charity renovating buildings serving our society, especially facilities that support our most in need. Bringing a little light into someone’s day will always make it brighter.
  • HeroWork Victoria has completed more than fifteen Radical Renovations for South Island Charities providing millions of dollars in transformational improvements.
  • Many charity buildings and infrastructure are in poor condition, inhibiting non-profits’ ability to deliver important social services, to be innovative, and respond to changing needs.
  • However, for decades the importance of charity buildings has been largely ignored, even though these places are where many of our most important social services are provided. They are our food banks, our community halls, our shelters, our counselling centres, our community kitchens.
