Exclusive FAKRO Flashing for Deck MounT Skylights
- FAKRO has designed a range of flashing systems that work with and enhance the performance of your skylight or roof window. They are configured to work exclusively with FAKRO products and will give you the ultimate weathertight effectiveness.
- There are flashing kits designed to work with all roof materials, such as shingle, metal, ceramic tile, slate, etc. All flashings are factory made using aluminum and powder polyester coated.
- Consider upgrading from standard flashing to a more energy efficient Thermo flashing kit.
- Note: FAKRO skylights & roof windows must be installed with FAKRO flashing for the warranty to be valid.
What type of flashing is required for your Deck Mount skylight
FAKRO skylight flashings are categorized according to the roof material used and application. The chart below will help you choose the right flashing for your skylight. The use of Thermo flashing allows you to achieve ENERGY STAR® Canada certification.
Flashing for Low-Profile Roofing Material (Asphalt Shingles, Flat Tiles, and Slates)
EL – Low-Profile Step Flashing
For use with with FX, FV, FVE, FVS deck mounted skylights
- EL step flashing is made from powder coated aluminum. It is used with flat roofing material up to 3/8” thick, such as shingles, plain tile, double lap roofing, slates or tar boards.
- The side elements of the flashing are laid alternately with the roofing material (maximum roofing material thickness 5/16’’) for superior performance.
- The bottom section of the flashing is equipped with a butyl strip to protect against wind driven rain or snow in stormy conditions.
ELA-T Thermo – Low-Profile Step Flashing
For use with FV, FVE, FVS deck mounted skylights
EL-T Thermo Step – Low-Profile Flashing
For use with the FX deck mounted skylight
- ELA-T Thermo and EL-T Thermo flashings are new products in the FAKRO range that provide superior integration with an insulated roof. These flashings help eliminate “cool areas” that sometimes occur between the roof deck and skylight causing condensation on the interior drywall.
- The underside of the Thermo flashing has flexible insulating material, creating an effective barrier by tightly sealing the skylight frame to the deck. FAKRO’s Thermo flashing works well in combination with insulated roofs and is especially recommended in cold regions*.
- Skylights used in conjunction with the FAKRO Thermo Flashing system are ENERGY STAR® certified.

Flashing for High Profile Materials
(Metal roofs and Dimensional Ceramic Tiles)
EH – High Profile Step Flashing
For use with FV, FVE, FVS, FX deck mounted skylights
- EH is the ideal flashing for high profiled corrugated materials, bonding the skylight with roofing materials such as tiles, corrugated and standing seam metal sheets.
- A wider and longer lower section allows a tighter joint with the high profiled roofing material (the height of the profile 1 1/4“ to 3 1/2”). A butyl strip holds down the bottom section of the flashing.
EH/A-AT Thermo – High Profile Step Flashing
For use with FV, FVE, FVS deck mounted skylights
EH-AT – High Profile Step Flashing
For use with the FX deck mounted skylight
- EH/A-AT and EH-AT Thermo Flashing are new products in FAKRO’s range. This innovative flashing provides a better insulated connection with the skylight frame and roof decking. Additionally, it minimizes thermal bridges and condensation.
- The underside of the Thermo flashing has flexible insulating material, creating an effective barrier by tightly sealing the skylight frame to the deck. FAKRO’s Thermo Flashing works well in combination with insulated roofs and is especially recommended in cold regions*.

Roof Underlayment
Made in Canada, this Skylight Roofing Underlayment is a safeguard to ensure a watertight installation. Self Adhesive membrane eliminates air currents and water infiltration.
- Included with EL, EH, EL-T, ELA-T, EH-AT, EH/A-AT flashing kits.
- 25mm thick synthetic roof underlayment membrane made of polyolefin.
- Measures 1 Ft x 21 Ft.
- UV Protected, anti skid surface allows for a fast and safe installation in any condition.
- Sufficient roofing underlayment supplied for one skylight.
- May be installed without primer.
- Self adhesive activated by a release sheet.
