- The DXW walkable skylight is another example of FAKRO’s industry leading product development. Ideal for an accessible flat roof, creating an incredibly strong walkable surface, while allowing natural light into the room below.
- Its modern design, quality finish and engineering eliminates the danger of a trip hazard by being perfectly level with the roof’s floor surface, and featuring a durable non slip surface coating.
FEATURES
- Increased resistance to attempts breaking due to reinforced design.
- Enhanced load capacity of 1,100 pounds /sq. ft. Triple glazing.
- Special non slip coating to ensure complete safety when walked upon.
- Quick and easy installation with profiles that clamp the covering material and facilitate the finish of the window connection with the roofing material included as standard.
- The inner surface of the frame is white.
- Frame is constructed of multi chamber PVC profiles filled with high performance insulation and the heavy duty DW6 triple glazing unit is passive, double chamber with a U-value of 0.22 Btu/h ft2 F.
- Suitable for roof pitches 0-15° degree.
- Designed for usable flat roofs to create a fully walkable surface, while the room below is infused with light.

Architectural Design
- The DXW stands alone as an architecturally innovative skylight, with its walkable ultra strong, seamless, infinity glass.
- This innovative skylight is integrated into the roof deck. The seamless non trip edge creates a visually stunning feature.
Anti Slip Coating
- Don’t worry about slipping, even when it is raining. The DXW features a special non slip coating to ensure complete safety when walking across.
- Elegant frosted finish. Light passes through the skylight and the glass surface is frosted for privacy.
Advanced Design and Insulation
- Anti slip coating.
- Triple glazing with load capacity
of 1,100 lbs/sq ft. Frosted white glazing finish for privacy. - Multi chamber PVC profiles filled with insulating material.
Ultra Strong Insulated Glazing
No other glazing comes close to the DW6 for walkable strength and outstanding thermal insulation.
- Three layers of laminated glass (the outer layer is anti slip), with the first chamber filled with argon gas.
- A central stabilizing single pane of glass.
- A second argon gas filled chamber.
- Finally another laminated glass layer.

The Features of FAKRO’s Laminated Glass
Superior Sound Reduction
Reduces the effects of sound by up to 30% compared to standard double pane glass, and up to 50% less than a acrylic skylight. Bring natural light in without additional noise such as traffic or planes.
Additional Security
Laminated glass is more difficult to break and penetrate. So, if you are concerned about security it is worth considering. The vinyl interlayer holds the glass together in case of breakage.
Best in class UV Protection
Laminated glass lets the light in but protects your home from UV rays. The ideal choice to prevent fading of your floors, furniture and artwork.
Increased Safety
Laminated glass provides additional safety. Even when broken it does not shatter because the two inner layers of glass are bonded to a thin plastic membrane.
Many building codes require laminated glass for out of reach applications.
