DRF – Flat Roof Access Skylight
- We are proud to offer this innovative new product, the DRF insulated roof access skylight joins our existing range of FAKRO flat roof solutions. In addition to acting as a skylight, it has the extra benefit of providing safe, and convenient access to a flat roof.
- Specifically designed hinges, and an opening system allow for easy sash opening up to 80°. Gas springs aid with the ease of opening and keep the sash in a secure open position while eliminating the risk of accidental closing.
- The DRF can be adapted with a second XRD/W base frame for installation on a green or living roof, or a higher skylight curb.

- An ideal solution for easy, and secure access to a flat roof, with the benefit of natural light.
- Roof access door opens up to 80° with gas hydraulics keeping the door stable in the open position.
- The frame of the flat roof skylight is constructed of multi chamber PVC profiles filled with highly rated insulation. The upper part of the DRF roof access skylight comes with an innovative flat glazing unit.
- DU6 glazing unit is a hermetically sealed triple glazed unit, not a dual glazed sealed unit with curved glass cover.
- Available with two glazing units: DU6 (triple-glazed) and DU8 (quadruple-glazed). Both are hermetically sealed units.
- Windows can be mounted on an additional XRD/W base, providing an additional height of 5⅞” (15cm), suitable for the installation in a green or living roof, and higher skylight curb.
- DRF roof access skylight is designed for pitches between 2-15° degrees.
- Infinity glass top surface design provides up to 16% greater glazing area compared to competitive offerings.
- Can be used with roofing products such as TPO, PVC, EPDM single ply or torched down membranes.
- Blackout (ARF/D) blinds are available.

Infinity Edge Glass Skylight
- The elegant design of seamless, edge to edge Infinity glass. Up to 16% greater glazing area compared to competitive offerings. Create a striking architectural feature, ideal when the skylight can be seen from above.
- Buildings with flat roofs often exclude natural light skylights and miss out on the benefits, but the DRF has been specifically designed for flat roofs.
Superior Design and Insulation
- The DRF’s innovative glazing and frame design provides a larger window area compared to the width of its frame, allowing in more light. The top surface profile has a glazing area 16% greater compared to standard frame designs.
- The frame of the flat roof skylight is constructed of multi chamber PVC profiles filled with highly rated insulation.
Locks Open for Additional Safety
- The DRF Roof Access Skylight opens up to 80°, making it significantly easier to climb through the opening.
- The door locks in a rigid, stable position when open, allowing you to safely use the handle for support. High performance gas hydraulics keeping the door securely open, allowing you to safely access the roof.

- Multi chamber PVC profiles filled with the most energy efficient insulating material
- Additional XRD/W bases available for installation in a green or living roof.
Green Roof Installation with Additional XRD/W Base
- Flat roof glass skylights can also be mounted on an additional XRD/W base with a height of 5⅞” for installation on green or living roofs.
- 2 XRD bases can be installed on top of each other for applications requiring additional height, such as a ‘green’ roof.

The Features of FAKRO’s Laminated Glass
Superior Sound Reduction
Reduces the effects of sound by up to 30% compared to standard double pane glass, and up to 50% less than a acrylic skylight. Bring natural light in without additional noise such as traffic or planes.
Additional Security
Laminated glass is more difficult to break and penetrate. So, if you are concerned about security it is worth considering. The vinyl interlayer holds the glass together in case of breakage.
Best in class UV Protection
Laminated glass lets the light in but protects your home from UV rays. The ideal choice to prevent fading of your floors, furniture and artwork.
Increased Safety
Laminated glass provides additional safety. Even when broken it does not shatter because the two inner layers of glass are bonded to a thin plastic membrane.
Many building codes require laminated glass for out of reach applications.
