- Our FWU Egress windows will not only light up a room, but they provide easy access to the roof, or a way of escape in case of emergency. FWU roof access windows are designed for rooms where building codes require multiple methods of escape in case of emergency.
- We recommend that you install the FWU roof access windows as an egress roof window for safety and building code approval.
- The roof access window is available in two versions: right opening FWU-R or left opening FWU-L. FWU size 24/46 windows are officially recognized as a certified Fire Exit roof window (Egress window*) and can help save lives in case of emergencies such as a fire or flood.

- Low emission and heat reflecting double glazed glass.

- Bracket free installation – no metal connections on the exterior.
- Note: For the warranty to be valid, FAKRO skylights must be installed with a FAKRO flashing kit.

Flashing for Asphalt Shingles
- These special flashings are intended for roof access window FWU. The ELW is engineered for low profile roofing materials like: shingles, flat tiles, slates.
- Roof access windows FWU can be combined horizontally. They can also be combined with centre pivot FTP-V window or with top hung FPP-V window, matching windows of the same height.
Flashing for High Profiles
- These special flashings are intended for roof access window FWU. The EHW is designed for high profiled roofing materials, such as metal roofs or ceramic tiles.
- Roof access windows FWU can be combined horizontally. They can also be combined with centre pivot FTP-V window or with top hung FPP-V window, matching windows of the same height.

The Features of FAKRO’s Laminated Glass
Superior Sound Reduction
Reduces the effects of sound by up to 30% compared to standard double pane glass, and up to 50% less than a acrylic skylight. Bring natural light in without additional noise such as traffic or planes.
Additional Security
Laminated glass is more difficult to break and penetrate. So, if you are concerned about security it is worth considering. The vinyl interlayer holds the glass together in case of breakage.

Laminated glass lets the light in but protects your home from UV rays. The ideal choice to prevent fading of your floors, furniture and artwork.
Increased Safety
Laminated glass provides additional safety. Even when broken it does not shatter because the two inner layers of glass are bonded to a thin plastic membrane.
