Efficient ENERGY STAR® Low-E3 Double or Triple Glazing with Argon Gas
- For maximum energy efficiency select from Columbia’s wide range of ENERGY STAR® LoE3 366 with advanced triple LoE coated glazing options – double and triple glazed. All options are available with laminated inner lite.
- The space between the glass panes is filled with argon gas, a natural, non toxic, high performance insulator.
- Because argon is denser than air it is superior at insulating your home than a conventional double pane skylight. It reduces cold or hot temperatures from transmitting through the glazing unit.
The Benefit of Natural Light
- Living in the north we all need more natural daylight in our homes, particularly during the winter months when days are shorter, there are fewer hours of sunlight, and the sun is at a lower angle than during the summer.
- Natural light has been proven to increase happiness and productivity.
- Increasing the amount of natural light in your home offsets the impact of Seasonal Affective Disorder, which affects many people in the winter when they do not receive enough sunlight.
- Natural light has been shown to lower the risk of nearsightedness in children and young adults by helping the eye produce dopamine, which aids in healthy eye development.
Economical and Adds Value
- Columbia self flashing skylights are manufactured in Canada using materials from across North America, making them less costly compared to foreign products.
- Skylights add to the value of your home as it is highly desirable to bring natural light and fresh air into your home.
- Today’s ENERGY STAR® certified skylights save you money compared to older models, and provide more comfort.
Frame Colours to Match Every Roof
- Seven standard frame colours are available on all models, fixed and venting, including custom sizes.
- Architects design natural light into the interior of the home; however, they want the skylight to blend with your roof covering to highlight their roof design.
Contrasting the skylight frame with your roof colour can be unattractive and an eyesore. - Bring in a paint chip to your dealer, and we will match it. For colourful steel and other roofing materials.

The benefits of Columbia’s laminated glass
Superior Sound Reduction
Reduces the effects of sound by up to 30% compared to standard double pane glass, and up to 50% less than a acrylic dome skylight.
Bring natural light in without additional noise such as traffic or planes.
Additional Security
Laminated glass is far harder to break and penetrate than traditional glass.
So, if you are concerned about security it is worth considering. The innermost interlayer holds the glass together in case of breakage.
Best in class UV Protection
Laminated glass lets the light in but protects your home from UV rays. The ideal choice to prevent fading of your floors, furniture and artwork.

Why Columbia
Canadian made skylights, designed for our harsh climate
Columbia skylights are specifically designed for life in our Canadian climate. Whether subjected to snow, ice, wind, hail, or intense heat, our products are engineered to outperform these demanding conditions.
Many imported skylights are designed for a more temperate climate and lack the performance and durability. Columbia has spent many decades manufacturing premium quality skylights that have stood up to the test of time in our Canadian climate.
Every aspect of the skylight has been studied, engineered, and tested.
Columbia utilizes the best materials available, including the latest glass technology.
Energy efficiency is a concern for Canadian homeowners because of our extreme climate. Columbia is the only Canadian manufacturer to offer Triple Glazing on all our skylight models, fixed and venting. We offer more ENERGY STAR® glass options than any other manufacturer.
New Mississauga distribution warehouse to better serve Ontario, Quebec & the Maritimes
We have relocated our eastern distribution warehouse to a newly constructed facility in Mississauga, Ontario. Columbia’s new distribution warehouse is larger and able to store a full range of ready to deliver Columbia, Slimlite, and FAKRO products.
The warehouse allows us to serve Eastern Canada with greater efficiency, and improved delivery times.
