Leed Statement
What is LEED™?
The leadership in Energy and Environmental design (LEED™) promotes the adoption of sustainable green building and development practices through the creation and implementation of universally understood and accepted tools and performance criteria. It is a third party certification program and an internationally accepted benchmark for the design, construction and operation of high performance buildings. It provides building owners and operators the tools they need to have an immediate and measurable impact on their buildings performance.
Construction projects are awarded points (LEED Credits) based on meeting the criteria within each of the following areas:
1. Sustainable site development
2. Water efficiency
3. Energy efficiency
4. Materials selection
5. Indoor environmental quality
6. Innovation and design
The Columbia LEED Statement is designed to demonstrate how our skylights and sun Tubes can act as a source of LEED points.
