Columbia offers two curb mount fastening systems
- Columbia manufactures outside and inside fastening skylights (the method by which the skylight is fixed to the curb).
- For AC VCM IF skylights, measurements always taken from inside curb rough opening.
- We recommend the inside fastening as it allows for a cleaner finish of drywall in the lightwell, with the PVC frame.
- The PVC Base Frame is used for sizes up to 5’ x 5’. Measurements are always inside curb. Larger skylights require an aluminum outside fastening base frame for strength and rigidity.
- All skylights are reversible, and should be specified when ordered.

Larger Sizes Than Glass
- One of the major benefits of acrylic is its ability to be used in larger skylights than are possible with glass.
- If you’re designing a dramatic architectural skylight feature above a kitchen, living room or over an indoor pool acrylic is a great option.
- For the larger sizes we provide an aluminum interior base frame for additional strength and stability.
Can Be Used on Sloped and Flat Roofs
- Acrylic skylights are highly versatile, being able to be installed on a sloped or flat roof.
- The dome or pyramid skylight washes away rain or snow, and stops the pooling of water. Ideal for areas of heavy snow fall.
Vertical or Horizontal Installation
- Architects look for the flexibility to express their ideas, as such Columbia acrylic skylights can be installed horizontally or vertically.
- A horizontal installation gives you a unique and dramatic orientation of a view or the sky.

Our skylights don’t leak – the frame design is proven to repel the worst of Canadian weather, and we use high performance glazing from the leading North American glazing manufacturer Cardinal Glass Industries. Acrylic and polycarbonate are supplied by the highest quality North American producers. Our skylights combine a durable extruded aluminum exterior frame and a heavy duty PVC vinyl interior frame.
The Columbia 4 sided rigid condensation gutter has been designed with additional width to allow for maximum moisture control.
