Columbia joined Canada’s ENERGY STAR program in 2008 and remains a dedicated participant, committed to building the most energy efficient skylights in Canada. Columbia manufactures the widest range of ENERGY STAR products in Canada, and has been acknowledged by ENERGY STAR with the 2021 Sustained Excellence, and 2022 and 2024 Special Recognition awards – we are the only skylight manufacturer to have achieved this level of recognition.
Columbia produces a wide range of Curb Mounted skylights, fixed and venting. The venting can be operated manually or with three electric opening options. The customer can specify glass or acrylic, with the widest range of double and triple glazed options available in Canada.
Columbia allows the homeowner to choose a skylight frame colour that matches their roof, delivering a skylight that integrates with the building’s colour scheme. Columbia offers 7 standard colours and unlimited colour matching, which is more than any other manufacturer.
As part of the extensive product range, Columbia manufactures a line of industrial grade commercial products, and residential and commercial sun tubes. Our skylights are available in the largest range of sizes in Canada – standard sizes for ease of ordering, and custom sizes for specialized projects.

Over the decades, we have contributed to the Canadian economy, employing a Canadian workforce and helping to strengthen Canada’s manufacturing sector.
Founded in 1955 by Len Corcoran, Columbia experienced rapid expansion in the 1960s. In 1978, Len’s son Ken took over and focused on modernizing production and developing high performance skylights. In 1984, the current owner, Mike Williams, took the reins, increasing Columbia’s national and international markets, while pioneering advanced manufacturing techniques to produce highly energy-efficient skylights.
Mike spearheaded the development of Columbia’s glass skylight line, including our ENERGY STAR® certified triple glazed models. Mike led the acquisition of several other skylight companies, such as Princess Glass and Slimlite, allowing Columbia to benefit from their technology and market recognition.
Columbia is a proudly Canadian company—thriving, evolving, and meeting the challenges of every decade with resilience and innovation. Our headquarters and manufacturing facility are located in Burnaby, British Columbia, with an eastern distribution center in Mississauga, Ontario. From these strategic locations, we can deliver standard-sized skylights to most places in Canada in under three days.
